The last two rounds in the league have seen CTWFC A climb the table - now level on points with Swindon Town, although we have played two more games!  Although CTWFC A has climbed CTWFC B has dropped, but there are two more game days left for both teams to kick-on and climb-up. CHAMPIONS: Back: Phil C, Charlie N, Graham N, Perry K. Front: Alan B, Jon H, Ollie S. The 120 mile round trip to Stoneham Lane Football Complex on 7 February, saw Calne Town Walking Football Club continued their climb to the top in the Hampshire FA Walking Football League. Our second appearance in La Liga (second tier) saw the team win all five games, conceding just 2 goals and scoring 11. A great performance which saw CTWFC win our second champions trophy in this Over 55s, 3 touch league, and should see us playing in Serie A (top tier) on our next visit. The New Year Appearance Sandwiched between our league topping performances, CTWFC made the first appearance in La Liga, securing a very respectable second place . These fixtures took place on 10 Jan and saw the team win two games, draw two games and lose one. This latest visit to Almondsbury saw a good set of results for the 70s who keep on truckin' in the quest to retain the title:  Abbeymead Rovers 0 v 2 CTWFC 70s CTWFC 70s 1 v 0 Bristol Utd. 70s CTWFC 70s 2 v 0 Clevedon Town  Keynsham Town Orange 0 v 0 CTWFC 70s There was very little movement in terms of standings but CTWFC move two points closer to leaders Keynsham Town Orange and level on points with Bournmouth WF. The 70s defence of their GFAWFL 2022/23 title kicked-off on 26 October with 3 draws and a win and continued on 7 December with... another 3 draws and a win! Melksham, Swindon, Cirencester Phoenix, and Jeff's and Alan's Calne teams all met on a sunny Monday morning at Beversbrook, Calne. It was an enjoyable morning of 65s football (with a few 60s concessions) with Swindon and Al's Calne playing out a draw in the final, and agreeing to retire immediately to the pub rather than go through a penalty shootout. So, players, referees and supporters headed off to a local hostelry for a refreshing beverage and a bite to eat - the way it should be!

CHAMPIONS: Back: John W, Charlie N, Kevin G. Front: Paul W, Alan B, Ollie S. Calne Walking Football Club's introduction to the Hampshire FA Walking Football League was met with a heavy downpour and the only goal to be conceded (There was no connection!) . But once we settled down to the strict three touch rule, the sun came out and we picked up maximum points from the remaining four games, finishing top of Ligue 1* and collecting the winners trophy. Thanks to the organisers, referees and opposition teams, for an enjoyable morning.
