60s Wiltshire County WFL 2023 - An Update

The Legend

CTWFC are proud to have fielded the oldest player registered in the Wilts County Walking Football League. Alan Rosekilly who, at the age of 81, has kept goal on a couple of occasions this season for Calne Strollers, and he did a great job on 30 July keeping a clean sheet against Calne Striders, helping secure a 1 v 0 victory.

It’s possible Alan will be between the sticks again on 17 September - the final match day of the WCWFL 2023 season.

Alan is a stalwart of walking football in Calne and plays regularly at Beversbrook’s Over 65s Calne Walk-Ball.

And… rumour has it he's an Aston Villa fan!

The League

Wilts County Walking Football Leagues will soon be playing the last match-day of the 2023 season. The results and standings have not been readily available so, to cut a long story short, this table below shows where the teams are to date in the Over 60s League.

On the last match-day, Sunday 17 September, CTWFC Strollers will play five games and, if the maths add-up and all results go their way, could finish two or three places higher than they're currently sitting.

CTWFC Striders will be going out to win their four remaining games and maintain third place!
